Regional Volleyball Semi Finals: USC vs Creighton
The Regional Volleyball Semi Finals took place at USD and four qualified teams (USC, LSU, University of Creighton and University of Kansas) battled it out to be in the finals the next day. Both matches for all teams were incredible and close games, but, I have to admit, I am bias to the USC v. Creighton because of my long time loyalty to USC volleyball. The final score of USC v. Creighton’s fourth set was 25-18 and the final score of LSU v. Kansas’s fifth set 15-13.
From watching USC from a screen, for the past four years, to being one row and a railing away from an amazing team that has inspired me for so long, was unbelievable to say the least. This experience was mind blowing. It actually got me emotional to be this close and see, in person, a spectacular group of players working so well together.
Not only was the game amazing but, for some reason, I was given a full access pass that allowed me to travel behind-the-scenes and sit in during the media room interviews. I got the privilege to listen in on USC head coach Mick Haley, senior Samantha Bricio, senior Alicia Ogoms and freshman Alyse Ford. They talked about reasons behind plays, stress relief and coaching reaction and effect on the game and all together gave me an experience I will never forget.
