Juniors Get a Taste of Future Javas
Juniors received a taste of their future senior year last Friday during homeroom with the annual Junior Java. ASB provided bagels and Better Buzz coffee, among other breakfast treats, for the juniors as is done about every month for the seniors during Senior Java. Along with eating food, juniors could participate in games of ping pong, enjoy music, or simply talk with other juniors.
“I thought the Junior Java was really fun and I had a great time,” said junior Erin Fuller. “It got me excited to be a senior next year. I think it will be fun to have more days like [Junior Java].”
Junior Katelynn August also saw the experience as a great way to transition to senior year. “This experience got me really excited to become a senior. I can’t believe next year will be my last year to be at SDA with my friends who have made such a positive impact on my life and helped me grow into a better person,” said August.
According to junior Chaitanya Hebert, the experience starts to bring together the junior class as a whole, which is especially important for next year when the students will be seniors.
“I think we have [Junior Java] to get our junior class together in a less academic environment so that we can bond for next year,” said Hebert. “Up until this point, we’ve all been in our little friend groups for the most part and Junior Java is a really great way for us to branch out and make new friends before we have all of our senior activities next year and eventually go off to college and leave SDA.”
