The militant group Boko Haram is believed to be behind a series of shootings in Nigeria. Boko Haram, which was formed in 2002, is fighting to create an Islamist state. Their shootings appear to target hunters selling certain kinds of meat and people playing board games. The group is blamed for the deaths of 600 people in the past year. Trials of the men who raped and killed a 23 year-old woman in Delhi, India, have quickened as people demand the better treatment of women. A report was sent to the home ministry with a series of recommendations on how to reform the rape laws. Justice Verma, head of his three-member commission, said that the police have not submitted any recommendations and have therefore failed in their duties to the security of the public. Clashes between police and Egyptian oppositionists have increased over the past week. Some extremist protestors have been seeking to overthrow Egyptian president Morsi, believing him to be as bad as the former dictator Hosni Mubarak.
