Fourteen-year-old Malala Yousafzai, an activist for girl’s education in Pakistan, was shot in the head today on her way home from school. Her attacker was sent by the Pakastani Taliban who wanted Yousafzai silenced. Yousafzai, who wrote a diary recording the time she and her community spent under Taliban rule, is believed to be out of danger. She is being sent for further treatment to Peshawar. On Oct. 10, a Syrian plane was forced to land in Turkey when intelligence reached the Turkish government that the plane was carrying ammunition. The government also claims that the ammunition was supplied by Russia. Both Syria and Russia deny these claims, leading to quite a bit of finger-pointing and accusations.
