In an attempt to save money, the Academy has created a new grade distribution policy. Grades are now located online, opposed to being handed out in paper form. “Printing is expensive. Our parents and students have become much more acclimated to technology. [Also] it’s immediate access to grades. Now there’s no waiting or grades forgotten in a backpack,” said Assistant Principal Jeanne Jones.
“The parent portal makes it much more comfortable to access this info,” said Jones. If students cannot find a computer to check grades or desire a solid record of their GPA, then they may call the counseling secretary Diane Caron and ask to have their grades printed out, said Jones. Caron’s phone number is located on the school website. Not one single student, parent, or teacher has complained about this new policy, said Jones.
