The week of Oct. 18 is homecoming. ASB has been planning for the events since a retreat in mid-August. After taking suggestions for spirit days from the student body, ASB came up with Lumberjack Monday, Tacky Tourist Tuesday, and When I Grow Up Thursday. The annual water and sports days will be taking place on Wednesday and Friday as in past years.
Due to the construction, the activities on water day, such as waterslides, will be held on the softball field.
Students will also have the opportunity to paint on a three-panel plywood wall. The activity, set up by art teacher Jeremy Wright, will be similar to the chalk mandala on exhibition day. The annual flag football game and homecoming carnival will take place on Oct. 22
The homecoming court will be presented in the assembly on Oct 22. The court includes freshmen Ryan Walsh and Nicole Troncone, sophomores Austin Caldwell and Haile Brant, and juniors Austin Stubbs and Michelle Xu. The Homecoming king and queen will not be announced until the “Grease lightning” themed dance on Saturday, October 23. The nominees are seniors Sammy Young, Luis Cervantes, Tate Dannemiller, Paul Gabriola, Ben Lang, Erica Lee, Pauline Disch, Yoshi LeaVesseur, Paige Kaufman, and Summer Foster.
