Girl Scout Cookies
It’s almost that time of year again. The time of year where small innocent girls turn into vicious moneymaking tyrants that get rich by getting you fat. Yes, I’m talking about Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts and their delicious cookies.
This year, there are some changes. The price per box, according to news reports, is to be increasing from its longtime $4 price to $5. To me, that seems a little overpriced for a small box of cookies. I would stop buying them except for one small issue: I’m addicted. I admit, I have a problem. I’m hooked. And I think many other people can identify with me. The cheap remake of the Samoas that can be found at the grocery store just won’t suffice my cravings. You’ll definitely see me (reluctantly) shelling out the $5-per-box this year. Hey, at least I’m supporting the lovely girls. And the economy.
Along with the price change, there are supposedly three new cookie flavors coming out, two of which that are gluten-free. They take my money and now they want my gluten?!
Toffee-tastic, one of the gluten-free options, is a cookie with toffee bits. Pretty self-explanatory.
Trios, the second gluten-free option, is a cookie with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and whole grain oats. I must say I’m most excited for this one.
Another new, non-gluten free flavor: Rah-Rah Raisins. The name just turns me off. It’s an oatmeal raisin cookie with Greek-yogurt chunks.
So basically, I need to hit the gym, and maybe get a job promotion before indulging in this year’s crop of cookies.
