Looking for a nifty way to start a small garden or brighten up your home decor? Try putting together this recyclable, eco-friendly eggshell garden.

You will need:

-Raw Eggs

-Egg carton

-Plotting soil

-Spoon

-Seeds (small herbs or flowers work best)

-Thumbtack or needle

-Small knife

-Water

-Small Bowl

Step 1

1) Use the thumbtack or needle to carefully poke a hole on the bottom, or wider part, of a raw egg.

Step 2

2) On the opposite side of the previous hole, use the small knife to gently tap the egg until a crack appears. Cut away about 1/3 of the top of the eggshell.

Step 3

3) Carefully empty the contents into a bowl, and refrigerate for later use.

Step 4

4) Thoroughly rinse the eggshell, and let it dry for about five to seven minutes.

Step 5

5) Using the spoon, carefully place some plotting soil in the eggshell. Fill the shell up about 2/3 of the way.

Step 6

6) Open your seeds and plant about two to three seeds in the shell.

Step 7

7) Cover the seeds and fill the rest of the shell with plotting soil.

Step 8

8) Moisten two times a day with water.

Step 9

9) Place in a sunny place. As the seeds start to sprout, add the eggshells to your home decor plants, or even plant the eggshells into a backyard. Both the eggshells and cardboard carton can be planted right into the soil.
