Stephanie Siers went to college at Northwest Missouri State University, and received a degree in speech and theatre education. She taught theatre for the past two years at Oak Park High School in Kansas City, MO. This year at SDA will be her third year of teaching.
Q: Besides teaching, what’s something you enjoy?
A: I enjoy traveling with my husband, going to plays and movies, and spending time with my friends and family.
Q: Something interesting or different about yourself?
A: I studied abroad in London, England during one summer while in college. It was a great experience. I got to see over 20 productions in the West End and see some amazing places.
Q: Pet peeves in the class room?
A: Disrespect bothers me.

A: I don’t like coffee. I prefer tea or hot chocolate, but I don’t have a favorite place yet.
Q: Most memorable high school teacher or experience?
A: I really loved my high school theatre teacher. I was in a production of “The Guys” my senior year. It was a two person play about a firefighter and a writer who got to write eulogies for firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. We raised money for NY firefighters and their families. We actually got to travel to NYC to deliver our donation. It was very special.
Erin Norton received her undergraduate degree at Penn State and got her teaching degree at National University. She has been teaching for three years and is teaching English and P.E this year.
Q: Besides teaching, what’s something you enjoy?
A: Creative writing, journalism, baseball, anything outdoors.
Q: Something interesting or different about yourself?
A: I’m the president of the alumni association of Penn State.
Q: Pet peeves in the class room?
A: When we’re in a class conversation and someone says “Can I go to the bathroom?”

A: Pannikin.
Q: Most memorable high school teacher or experience?
A: My AP English teacher senior year, because she made English fun for everyone.
Joseph South went to college at Bethany University in Santa Cruz, and West Valley Jr. College. This year he is teaching History, Physical Education, and coaching baseball. This will be his sixth year of teaching.
Q: Besides teaching, what’s something you enjoy?
A: Spending time with family, surfing, hockey, baseball.
Q: Something interesting or different about yourself?
A: I love all types of music, except country, to an extreme.

A: Popping gum and students sitting quietly.

A: A Starbucks chocolate frappaccino.

A: My senior English teacher Mr. Rains.
Masayo Isogai went to college at the University of Hawaii. She has been teaching for six years and this year is teaching Japanese.

A: Sports, tennis, yoga, going to the beach.

A: There were way too many to pick.
Anne Briscoe went to college at UCSD and majored in general biology. This year she is teaching biology, and it is her tenth year of teaching.
Q: Besides teaching, what’s something you enjoy?
A: Surfing, camping, hiking, etc.
Q: Something interesting or different about yourself?
A: I am Russian and used to be fluent.

A: Kids talking or pens tapping when I’m talking to the class.

A: I had many fun times at dances, basketball games, and playing water polo.
Marcia Pink went to college at UCSD and the University of Washington. She is teaching algebra 1, algebra 2 and algebra readiness this year.

A: Triathlons, working out.

A: I make bread and croissants.

Ryan Yee went to college at UCSD, and is currently the assistant principal of SDA.

A: I lived in Indonesia.

Julianne Velasco went to college at UCSD and has been a counselor for 11 years.

A: Running, snowboarding, fishing.

A: I have four-year-old, girl twins, and I was a back-up singer and dancer.

A: Making friends and being on the varsity cheer team my freshman year.
Kelly Martot went to Claremont, Ca, and has been teaching for four years. This year she is teaching French.
