The San Dieguito Academy Mustang, the student newspaper, will be hosting a school board candidates night for Areas 1 and 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18. The event is open to the public and will take place in the Mustang Commons, 800 Santa Fe Dr in Encinitas.

In Area 1, which encompasses Encinitas north of Cardiff, incumbent Maureen “Mo” Muir and Commissioner/PTA Member  Amy Flicker are running. In Area 3, which consists of Cardiff, Solana Beach, and Rancho Santa Fe, Educator/Parent Melisse Mossy and Instructional Designer/Editor Rhea Stewart are running.

 The public will have an opportunity to write down questions for the candidates. Journalists from San Dieguito, La Costa Canyon, Torrey Pines and Canyon Crest Academy high schools will moderate and directly question the candidates. Attendance is limited; the capacity of the Mustang Commons is approximately 150.
