If you see someone trip over something, or even nothing, it’s probably me.
Grades App Fails to Exist
April 27, 2018
The Grades App is going to be shutting down on April 30.
According to its makers, those who currently have the app will have continued access for a brief period of time past the official shut down date, though it will no longer be available on the Apple store.
To replace the services provided by the Grades app, the makers messaged students to download the Aeries app.
The Grades app “was super easy to use,” sophomore Jaden Alban said.
Fiona Peinl, freshman, added that “it’s really helpful.”
But, the Aeries app did not receive the same praise. According to Peinl, “It’s kind of harder since you have to log in each time.” She also said it fails to clearly distinguish current and past grading periods of classes like the Grades app does.
It is “very confusing and hard to work,” Alban added.
“It’s been an honor developing this app for you all and I’m amazed by how many of you found it useful. I had no idea that an app I made primarily just for myself would be downloaded by so many people,” the app’s creator, Adrien Truong, said in a statement found on the app store. “To all of you who left nice reviews or emailed me about future requests, I especially want to thank you. Reading those comments truly made my day.”
While the Grades app will no longer exist, the maker of the app said he hopes “we’ll meet again in a future app.”
