Fear the Walking Dead: Episodes 214-215
October 12, 2016
“Fear the Walking Dead” tried something new for the season finale of their successful spin-off show. To finish off this wild Season 2, the last two episodes were shown in succession. The second season ended with the grotesque gore that “The Walking Dead” series is known for, leaving long-time fans pleased.
In the first half of the two-part season finale, Travis confronts the two men that he left his son Chris with. Chris abandoned Travis to try and start a new life with these two young guys, but when they meet up again and Chris is not with them, Travis frantically starts to ask questions. They admit to killing Chris, and Travis is sent into a dark mindset, in which he feels immensely regretful for letting this happen. Travis brutally kills the two young men, and his actions result in horrible consequences. The group is kicked out of the hotel, and the safe haven that they helped create is now stripped from them.
On the other front, Nick fights to keep his new colony from being taken over by a neighboring community. The leadership of Alejandro is questioned when he reveals that he did not actually survive a walker bite and that he had been lying all this time. The faith-based community structure of the colony falls apart with this news. But then, Alejandro is really bitten by a walker and begins to go mad. The colony comes up with a plan to leave, and Alejandro will stay behind to kill the intruders. His plan is to release all of the walkers into the walls once the bandits come to try and take it over.
This season was very emotional, and a bleak picture was painted over the hope of the group. But that is what the show is about, overcoming the end of the world and trying to survive among the dead. This season held much heartbreak, like when the group split up, but the hope is still there that they will rejoin forces in the future. But now, as we roll into October, fans turn their attention to the seventh season of the original hit drama, “The Walking Dead.” Be sure to tune in to AMC on Oct. 23 to catch the season premiere of “The Walking Dead.”
