Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for the things you have and the people who surround you. It’s also a holiday that gives students a week off from school. With that in mind, the Mustang asked the student body what their plans are during this upcoming break. Answers ranged from going out of town, visiting friends and family, and staying at home to rest up for the holidays. From the Mustang Staff, have a wonderful break and a Happy Thanksgiving!

“I’m going to Big Sur for Thanksgiving to see my sister, who’s in college. And I’m going to see the Doctor Who 50^th Anniversary Special in theaters.” – Junior Gabby Garruto

“I’m gonna be participating in the events that transpire at a typical Thanksgiving holiday family event.” – Senior Collin Johnson

“I’m going to Palm Springs for a mother-daughter trip and staying for three whole days! I’m going hiking, swimming, and am going to eat a lot of pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream.” – Junior Sophia Rucireta

“I am going to be hosting my wife’s birthday party followed by Thanksgiving festivities with family and friends, then my daughter’s birthday.” – Social Science teacher Oly Norris

“I’m running the O’side Turkey Trot 5K!” – Senior Sam Fierro

“I’m going to Weesha, California and my sisters are coming home from college. I’m also going to eat a lot of food.” – Sophomore Megan Scherer

“[I’m going to] finish my UC and CSU applications and have a fun Thanksgiving!” – Senior Josie Overland

“I am going to sleep, and my grandma is coming here from Georgia, so I’m going to the beach even though it’s basically below freezing. Oh, and I’m having Thanksgiving at the grandparents’.” – Junior Marilyn Waldropp

“I’ll be doing some extra credit for AP Bio and I’m coming up with two new pieces for AP Studio Art (I’m hoping one will become my new magnum opus). Other than scintillating homework I hope to have a nice Thanksgiving with my family. Lots of hot chocolate and pumpkin pie are hopefully involved.” – Senior Lauren Nelson
