Christian Siriano’s spring 2011 collection showcased the Project Runway alum’s signature “fierce” designs, sending models down the runway wearing flamboyant clothes that nearly eclipsed their stick-thin bodies. The designs followed a varied color scheme, ranging from white tailored casual dresses, to animal print-like blue fabric, to belted copper designs. The dresses alone might have seemed quite out of place with the one another, but the show was strung together so that each outfit perfectly complemented the one before it. The models wore over-the-top burnt blush, which especially stood out during the red numbers that comprised almost half of Siriano’s collection. The last model walked the runway almost entirely consumed in a cloud-like red taffeta. However, few of the outfits were so loudly couture, and rather seemed strikingly ready-to-wear. Overall, it was an effective collection that once again proves Siriano to be at the top of his game.
