In this installment in the Walking Dead series, it jumps to an entire episode focused on Daryl and Carol.  Previously, they drove off in pursuit of a mysterious car that they think has something to do with Beth’s disappearance.  Without telling the group that they left, they follow the car into the city of Atlanta.  When cops get out of the car to check something out, the viewer knows that they are the same people that have Beth.  There is dramatic irony, however, because Daryl and Carol do not know.  This episode is a nice relief from the common setting of the rural forest regions of Georgia, being set in the city of Atlanta.

Highlighting the aftermath of the apocalypse, the rugged streets sprawling with walkers, and the huge skyscrapers that have been abandoned and destroyed, “Consumed” brings a fresh new look to the old plotline.  The episode gets intense when Daryl and Carol are confronted with Noah, the same person that Beth attempted to escape the hospital with.  Noah holds them at gunpoint and steals their weapons, then he tries to get away; however, his injured leg disables him from moving too fast, so Daryl and Carol catch up to him pretty quickly.  Once confronted, Daryl finds out that Noah knows where Beth is.  As this installment comes to a close, the people from the hospital arrive and take Carol, leaving Noah and Daryl with a sure to be epic mission for next week.
