Fear the Walking Dead: Episode 105, “Cobalt”

Tensions rise in this week’s episode of “Fear the Walking Dead.” Slowly but surely, we see humanity and establishment begin to deteriorate, as drastic measures are taken by civilians in order to maintain organization.
The military that is supposed to be protecting the civilians of the camp are becoming less and less reliable. They are going out on risky missions and sending people who show any slight sign of infection away. Also, they are being extremely non-transparent, by not informing the civilians much about anything that is happening outside of the camp.
In this thrilling episode, two different stories are told in typical Walking Dead fashion. Since Nick, one of the main characters, has been separated from the core group, he has been taken to a place where they hold all those thought to be infected. There, he meets an interesting new character, who has remained unnamed. He saves Nick from being taken away to a further chamber within this prison-like system. The mysterious man tells Nick that he needs his help in order to aid his escape.
Back at the camp, Daniel Salazar and his daughter, Ofelia, successfully capture a military soldier and tie him up in their downstairs basement. Mr. Salazar finds his humanity drifting away as he is forced to torture the man in order to obtain information on the whereabouts of his wife, as well as information regarding the military’s determination to keep the people of the camp safe.
The man spills the beans, and tells him about plans to evacuate the camp once the time comes. In addition to abandoning the civilians, they also have plans to “humanely execute” the innocent people. This is a huge blow to our main group of protagonists, who thought that they were being protected by this authoritative power. But in actuality, the overpowering force of the undead begins to show itself among the encampment, as chaos ensues and the end of humanity dawns.
