Get ready for a mind-blowing, breathtaking and tear-making Grand Slamboree where SDA students perform their hearts out as they read, sing, and shout their own written work. The Grand Slamboree, occurring at 6: 30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 in the PAC Theater, is an open mic, allowing SDA students to share their art pieces with the world. From poetry to short stories and music, anything is welcome as long as it is an original piece created by a student.
Admission is free; however, due to limited space, tickets will need to be picked up in advance at the finance office or inside the Mosaic at lunch Monday, June 3. In the Mosaic Monday, you can also watch previews of the Slamboree to get a glimpse of some of the astonishing performances you will hear at the show. The show runs until 9 p.m. Food will be available for purchase during intermission.
The readers are phenomenal. All of their words come straight from their hearts. As they read, you can feel the power of their words circling your thoughts; they’ll leave you with a lasting impression and a message you’ll never forget. Don’t miss this chance to share your words with an audience, by signing up at the doors, or to just listen to San Dieguito Academy’s enriching and talented teens. The Grand Slamboree is a show you’ll be talking about for months!
