Switchfoot Will Bring the Music to SDA
February 23, 2018
SDA alumni have gone on to do incredible things.
Eddie Vedder, class of 1982, went on to be the lead singer of the famous rock band Pearl Jam.
Kurt Grote, class of 1991, went on to win a gold medal in the Olympics.
Emily Ratajkowski, class of 2009, went on to become a prominent actress and model.
Many talented people have passed through these halls, but one has decided to return.
Jon Foreman — singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the alternative rock band, Switchfoot — is returning to SDA on Saturday, February 24 to premiere his documentary “25 in 24” in the Learning Commons at noon.
The documentary tells the tale of Foreman and his friends’ adventure around San Diego in late 2015 and their attempt to perform 25 concerts in 24 hours. SDA is featured in the film as one of the 25 locations. Other venues ranged from a children’s hospital to a wedding. Some familiar locations were featured as well, such as Swamis and the Encinitas Community Park. In the trailer, Foreman said, “no smoke, no lights, no ticket price, no microphones. Just music, for no other reason than the joy of the moment. I wanted to live an entire day of song, with my friends.”
This event is free. Doors open at 11:30 am and seating will be limited.
Foreman will also be returning to San Diego for his “25 in 24” tour on April 14. Tickets are now available for purchase to see him play at the Balboa Theatre.
