“The Walking Dead:” Episode 715 “Something They Need”
March 29, 2017
In this week’s installment of “The Walking Dead,” the group paid a visit to Oceanside, the all-women community that Terra stumbled upon in weeks prior. Also, Sasha is captured by Negan’s Saviors and she pleads with Eugene to help her out.
At the beginning of the episode, Terra comes clean to the group about the village of women that saved her life. She had previously made a promise to the people of Oceanside that she would never speak of their secret community. However, the group’s need to acquire guns pushes Terra over the edge, and she spills the beans about their safe haven.
On the other front, Sasha is captured and locked in a dark room. Negan tries to sway her to join the Saviors, and even Eugene is persuading her. Eugene genuinely wants Sasha to be okay, and he sees joining Negan as the best option to stay safe; he is unwilling to fight. Sasha tries to trick Eugene into getting her a weapon, saying that she wants to kill herself, when in reality she plans to use it to kill Negan. Eugene fails miserably, giving Sasha a poison pill instead of a weapon, and Sasha is distraught. What I thought was going to be a heroic moment, turned into another disappointment from Eugene.
Meanwhile, Rick’s group seizes all the weapons at Oceanside. The women of Oceanside are apprehensive at first, but they eventually warm up to the idea of helping Rick and the gang fight Negan. However, the leader of the village is stuck in her ways and doesn’t want to fight. For now, it looks like they aren’t going to join the uprising, but they are doing their part by supplying the guns.
At the end of episode, the group returns to Alexandria and guess who is waiting for them? Dwight, a former Savior, is waiting for Rick and the group, and he wants to join them in overthrowing Negan. The episode ends with this cliffhanger, making next Sunday’s episode even more hyped. Be sure to tune in at 9 p.m. to catch the next epic installment of “The Walking Dead.”
