The Walking Dead: Episode 603
One of the scariest, gut-wrenching, hectic episodes of all time left “The Walking Dead” fans in puzzled curiosity this week. Every person who watched the episode has one question on their mind, “Is Glenn dead???”
On Sunday we saw the chaos that ensued after the attack by the Wolves, but from a different perspective. The group that was trying to lead the giant mob of walkers away from the community is now sprawled, out while trying to deal with the disunity that was created in wake of the horde being misdirected to the community. We see a main cast of characters including Glenn and Michone lead a small group back to the town to try to beat the mob of zombies following them. However, when they take refuge in a building for a short break, they soon get surrounded and are forced to make a dangerous break for it. The accompanying scene left fans speechless, and desperate to know the truth about what happened to Glenn.
The Walking Dead is a survival horror show in which death and killing is a large premise to how the show progresses. Since its inception, countless characters have been killed off, some more dear in fans hearts than others. However, there is a small roster of characters that have been around since the very first season of the show. Main characters such as Rick, Carl, Daryl, Glenn, and Carol have all been mainstays in the TV show since its premier in 2010. Fans have grown much attached to some of these characters due to their continued development through five years.
Thus, it is incredibly hard for the fans to say goodbye to long-term survivors. However, the writers cannot make the show too predictable by making certain characters invincible. The result is the incredibly sad, rare occasion when a character to which viewers feel so attached to is killed off from the show.
This may or may not have occurred in last Sunday’s episode. No one is quite sure yet, but it seems to be that Glenn, who has been a focal character since the first season, has been surrounded and eaten by a horde of walkers. Fans are denying his death by claiming that the person who fell into the crowd of zombies with him is on top of Glenn, and it is that person’s body that the walkers are devouring.
However construed the technicalities get, fans have drawn a line in the sand, with some believing that Glenn is somehow still alive, and others facing the difficult reality that Glenn may actually be dead. Whatever the case may be, however, Walking Dead fans are extremely eager to find out the truth behind the horrific and ambiguous events that unfolded last Sunday night.
