Night in Italy Preview
San Dieguito Academy Visual and Performing Arts Department will be collaborating to present an evening full of entertainment Thursday, April 23 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
There will be dances, live art experiences, theatre performances and musical selections inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Culinary arts will be selling Italian appetizers such as pizza slices and fried donuts. Junior Maggie Lombard describes the night as “entertainment, art, food, and more! Enter the world of the Renaissance and hear music, see dancing, watch Commedia Dell’Arte scenes, make masks, and more.”
In preparation, teachers and students have been meeting during late start mornings. “We have something planned for every 10 minutes. We want our guests to be constantly entertained,” said Jeremy Wuertz, music director.
The free event will take place outside the Performing Arts Center on the San Dieguito Academy campus. “It’s sure to be a grand night!” Lombard said.
